200 ISIS elements arrested in Ramadi

Iraqi forces dismantled several terror cell consisting of 200 elements who had taken part in terror operations in the past years, Anbar’s Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence Directorate said Monday (February 11th).

Members of the cells had taken part in the mass executions of about 700 members of the Sunni tribe of Albu Nimr between 2014 and 2015.

They had also participated in the killing of Iraqi soldier Mustafa al-Athari and hanging his body from a bridge in Fallujah, a directorate statement said.

Cell members also have blown up car bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) targeting civilians and security forces, the statement said.
