Iraqi police arrest 2 senior ISIS elements in Mosul

Two senior "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements involved in various crimes during the group’s control of Mosul between 2014 and 2016, were arrested in a village near Mosul, the Ninawa police said Tuesday (February 5th).

"Fayyadh al-Okaidi and Saad Nassi, two terrorists who hurt people and spilled their blood during ISIS's occupation of Mosul, were arrested in an operation carried out by special operations forces," Col. Jamal al-Hamdani of Mosul police told Diyaruna.

The ISIS elements were arrested in two separate operations in Saada village, south-western Mosul, he said.

"Fake IDs were found in their possession, including one for a non-existent humanitarian organisation," he said, as well as two machine guns and one hand grenade.
