2 Yazidi women, 1 girl rescued from ISIS in Syria

Two Yazidi women and one girl who were kidnapped by the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in 2014 have been rescued in Syria, the Office for Yazidi Abductees' Affairs said on Wednesday (January 30th).

"Our office has rescued two women -- the first is 30 and born in Tal Qasab village, and the other is 40 and born in Zurafa -- and one girl, aged 12 also from Tal Qasab," said director Hussein al-Qaidi.

Since the office was opened, it has rescued 3,352 kidnapped Yazidi women and men, out of a total of 6,417 that ISIS captured in Sinjar on August 3rd, 2014, he said.

"They were freed on Syrian soil thanks to vigorous efforts of our office staff," he said, noting that they will be received by their families when they arrive in the Kurdish region "soon".
