Car bomb attack thwarted in Anbar province

The Iraqi police in Anbar province has thwarted a terror attack involving a vehicle packed with explosives west of Ramadi, the police said Tuesday (January 8th).

Security forces prevented a truck packed with explosives from targeting a joint police-army checkpoint in al-Kilo 160 area, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.

"The suicide bomber was shot down when he refused to stop, leading the truck to swerve," he said, adding that the explosives were defused, and an investigation was opened to identify the suicide bomber.
