Three militants were killed and a policeman was wounded in clashes between Iraqi security forces and "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in southeastern Baqubah, the Diyala Operations Command said Wednesday (November 7th).
"A joint force from the Diyala Operations Command conducted a search operation in several areas within its area of responsibility, including al-Eyoun village, southeast Baqubah," command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul said in a statement.
The force clashed with ISIS elements who were hiding in the village and killed three of them, he said.
"A policeman was wounded in the clashes and taken to hospital for treatment," he said, noting that "weapons and detonation materials found in the terrorists’ possession were seized".
