Iraqi forces dismantle 50 IEDs in Anbar

Two terror suspects were arrested and 50 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were dismantled in various areas in Anbar province, the Ministry of Interior said Tuesday (October 9th).

"Military engineering unit in the East Anbar Operations Command blew up 25 IEDs and cleared 15 square kilometres in al-Rashad (northeast of Fallujah)," ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Saad Maan said in a statement.

Nine other IEDs and a hand grenade were found in al-Rashad, and 16 IEDs were seized and dismantled in Albu Khanfar, Maan said.

A joint force also arrested two terror suspects who tried to enter Baghdad through the al-Suqur checkpoint, he added.
