Joint Iraqi and international coalition forces killed 15 extremists inside a cave northeast of Akashat in Anbar province, the Anbar Operations Command said Thursday (September 20th).
"Fifteen terrorists were killed late Wednesday in a cave northeast of the phosphate mines in Akashat, near al-Qaim and the Syria border," commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.
International coalition warplanes destroyed the cave, before the army forces advanced to the site, he said, where they seized explosive vests, explosives and ammunition that belonged to the extremists.
