Syria war has killed more than 360,000: Observatory

More than 360,000 people have been killed across Syria in seven years, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Thursday (September 13th).

The new toll comes amid rising international concern that a looming Syrian regime assault against opposition and extremist fighters in Idlib province would be a "bloodbath", AFP reported.

The Observatory said it had recorded the deaths of 364,792 people, nearly a third of them civilians, since the outbreak of the conflict in March 2011.

The toll represents an increase of about 13,000 in the past six months, the Observatory said.

The war has killed 110,687 civilians, including more than 20,000 children and nearly 13,000 women.
