ISIS sleeper cell dismantled in Mosul

Security forces in Ninawa province have dismantled an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) sleeper cell in Mosul, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said Wednesday (September 12th).

"The Military Intelligence Directorate’s 20th Division carried out a high-level pre-emptive operation that led to dismantling an ISIS sleeper cell in Mosul's al-Shura neighbourhood," the ministry said in a statement.

All of the cell members were arrested, the statement said, noting that they had all taken part in several crimes in the past and were planning additional attacks.
