Iraqi forces dismantle 260 IEDs near Sinjar

Iraqi forces have over the past 24 hours dismantled 260 locally-made improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and two explosive vests in areas near Sinjar, west of Mosul, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Monday (July 9th).

They have also destroyed three 'Islamic State of Iraq and Syria' (ISIS) underground hideouts and three rockets in Tal Qasab and villages near Sinjar, ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.

"Information and CDs containing pictures of ISIS terrorists were seized" during the operation, he said.

Three men who have been collaborating with ISIS were arrested hours after the hideouts were raided, he said.
