Iraqi forces kill 11 extremists in Anbar

Eleven "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements were killed in various operations over the past three days in different areas of Anbar’s cities and desert, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij announced Friday (July 6th).

"Joint forces carried out 13 security operations and killed 11 terrorists in clashes south of Ramadi and east of Fallujah," he told Diyaruna.

"Various weapons were seized, and eight ISIS hideouts and secret headquarters were also destroyed in the same operations," he said.

Most of the operations were carried out in co-operation with locals and farmers in eastern Fallujah villages, he said.

"This is a very important achievement as citizens’ continued co-operation with the security forces means that terrorism will not come back," he added.
