ISIS suicide car bomber kills 6 rivals in Syria

An "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) suicide car bomber killed at least six elements of rival Tahrir al-Sham on Wednesday (June 13th) at a roadblock in Syria's Idlib province, AFP reported.

The ISIS element "blew himself up at a roadblock" controlled by Tahrir al-Sham, killing six of the alliance's elements, said Syrian Observatory for Human Rights head Rami Abdel Rahman.

The attack took place on the western outskirts of Idlib city.

ISIS also executed five Tahrir al-Sham elements last weekend, Abdel Rahman said.

The group is attempting to make a comeback in the area, after being driven from vast swathes of its self-proclaimed "caliphate" last year.

In January, it declared Idlib under its control, even through the province is dominated by rival Tahrir al-Sham.
