10 ISIS elements arrested in Mosul

Iraqi forces arrested 10 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements, including the person in charge of the group's al-hesba (religious police) in Mosul, the Interior Ministry said Thursday (May 10th).

"The Ninawa police command is carrying out a campaign to arrest all wanted dangerous ISIS elements in eastern and western Mosul," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said in a statement.

"The campaign has nabbed 10 ISIS criminals, including one who headed the so-called al-hesbah office," he said, noting that others had carried out executions against security forces personnel, while some were charged with manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and car bombs.
