Iraqi forces arrest ISIS element involved in beheading victims

Three senior "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements, including one involved in beheading victims when the group controlled Mosul, have been arrested, the Iraqi police in Ninawa province said Tuesday (May 8th).

"A special operations force arrested three ISIS elements in various areas of Mosul where they had been hiding among citizens using aliases," Ninawa police chief Brig. Gen. Hamad Namis al-Jubury told Diyaruna.

Among the detainees is "Salam Nafeh, a senior terrorist involved in beheading victims and throwing them from the top of buildings", al-Jubury said.

"He is a precious find for the security forces and his arrest means enhanced security in Mosul," he said.
