Seven civilians were killed and 13 others were wounded in a Tuesday night (May 1st) attack by the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) in al-Tarmiya district north of Baghdad, an Iraqi police official told Diyaruna.
"ISIS militants attacked the village of Albu Marzuq in al-Tarmiya and opened fire on a number of passersby before attacking a lawyer’s house in the area and another house owned by an anti-ISIS tribesman," Lt. Col. Ahmed al-Mashhadani said.
The Iraqi Interior Ministry said in a statement that it opened an investigation into the attack to identify and arrest the perpetrators who escaped after the attack.
