Iraqi forces uncovered four tunnels containing bodies of "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) fighters, weapons and explosives during a joint army-police operation in Mosul, the Iraqi police in Ninawa province said Tuesday (May 1st).
The tunnels, found in al-Dahla and Hamam al-Alil, contained bodies of ISIS elements who seemed to have been wounded in battles with Iraqi forces, Ninawa police chief Hamad Namis al-Jubury told Diyaruna.
"The forces also found various weapons and explosives, medicine, bandages, and information stored on laptops inside those tunnels," he said.
