Iraqi forces crack down on ISIS sleeper cells in Diyala

Iraqi forces on Tuesday (April 10th) launched a military operation in eastern Diyala to crack down on "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) sleeper cells in three areas across the province, the Diyala police said.

"The operation, carried out by joint forces in the area between Khanqin district and al-Saadiya and Jalawla, includes search operations in al-Nada, Abdullah al-Hatam and al-Sayyid Mustafa villages, in eastern Diyala," the police command said in a statement.

The operation aims to crack down on ISIS sleeper cells and prevent them from finding safe havens in those areas, it said.
