Iraqi forces uncovered 27 explosive vests and two tunnels in al-Ayadhiya, west of Mosul, during ongoing search operations for "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) remnants in Ninawa province, the Joint Operations Command said Tuesday (April 3rd).
Security forces from the Ninawa Operations Command, with aerial support from the army’s warplanes, also found 63 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 130 mortars and 13 anti-tank mines in the operation, the command said in a statement.
"The two tunnels and explosives were blown up by the army and three suspects were arrested in the operation," the statement said.
