3 ISIS suicide bombers killed in Samarra

Iraqi forces killed three "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements who were planning to blow themselves up, in al-Ishaqi Island, 20 kilometres south of Samarra, the Interior Ministry said Thursday (March 8th).

"Acting on prior intelligence on the whereabouts of two suicide bombers who were planning dual attacks, joint forces from the Samarra Operations Command and the local police attacked a house in al-Ishaqi Island and clashed with the terrorists," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.

"One suicide bomber was killed in the clashes, while the other two blew themselves up after they ran out of ammunition," he said, noting that no Iraqi forces were hurt in the clashes.
