Two "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) positions near Lake Hamrin and Mount al-Awd, in north-east Diyala province, were destroyed in an Iraqi army airstrike, the Diyala Operations Command said Friday (March 2nd).
"Acting on accurate intelligence and monitoring, Iraqi army attack helicopters launched airstrikes targeting ISIS positions near Lake Hamrin and Mount al-Awd on the border with Kirkuk province," commander Lt. Gen. Mizher al-Azzawi said in a statement.
"Two ISIS positions, including caravans where several terrorists were staying, three vehicles and large amounts of weapons were destroyed in the strikes," he said.
