Iraqi army forces on Friday (February 23rd) thwarted a suicide attack involving a truck packed with explosives in Iraq's westernmost province of Anbar, the Anbar Operations Command said on Friday (February 23rd).
"The army destroyed a truck packed with explosives driven by a suicide bomber who tried to attack a military barracks in the Kilo 160 area," command spokesman Col. Mohammed al-Dulaimi told Diyaruna.
"The suicide bomber aimed to attack soldiers inside the barracks, but he was dealt with after he ignored warnings to stop and crossed a metal checkpoint at high speed," al-Dulaimi said.
"No human or material losses were incurred as a result of this incident," he said.
