4 ISIS elements arrested near Syrian border

Iraqi forces arrested four "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements at a deserted building that contained large quantities of weapons and explosives in western Anbar, Iraq's Joint Operations Command said Thursday (February 15th).

"Joint Iraqi forces have stormed a deserted building in Husaibya al-Gharbiya, near the Syria border, which had been previously used as a Customs Administration building," command spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

Iraqi forces clashed with the ISIS elements before forcing them to surrender, he said.

"Weapons, military equipment, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines were seized during the operation," he said.
