A nine-member "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) cell has been dismantled in a special security operation carried out by joint forces in Anbar province, Anbar's police command said Thursday (February 8th).
Security forces have dismantled a terror cell specialised in planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and carrying out assassinations, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.
"Based on the confession of a defendant, our units identified and tracked the cell, and then began to arrest its members in several areas of Ramadi, Fallujah and al-Habbaniya," he said.
"Weapons, landmines and IEDs found in their possession were seized," he said.
