ISIS camp destroyed in Anbar's desert

The Iraqi army, supported by international coalition aircraft, destroyed an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) camp in Anbar's desert, the Anbar Operations Command said Friday (January 19th).

"Acting on intelligence and aerial images, the army carried out a swift operation in Wadi al-Abyadh in Anbar's desert where ISIS terrorists were based," commander Maj. Gen. Mahmoud al-Falahi told Diyaruna.

"Our forces advanced with the support of international coalition warplanes and destroyed the camp after clashing with eight terrorists who were using RPGs and medium weapons, and killing them," he said.

Various explosives, ammunition and weapons were also seized in the operation, he added.
