6 ISIS elements arrested in separate operations in Mosul

Iraqi security forces have arrested six "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements in separate operations in Mosul and its suburbs over the past two days, the Iraqi police said Monday (December 11th).

The six suspects were hiding using aliases, but were uncovered thanks to citizens' co-operation, said deputy Mosul police chief Brig. Gen. Saeed Zanoon.

"Three of the terrorists had been involved in crimes against Mosul residents during ISIS's control over the city," he told Diyaruna.

Weapons were found in the basement of a house where one of the suspects was hiding, south-west of Mosul, he said.
