Iraqi forces thwart terror attack near school in Mosul

An attempted terror attack involving a car bomb and an improvised explosive device (IED) near a school in Mosul was thwarted Wednesday (November 29th) morning, according to the Iraqi police in Mosul.

"Security forces dismantled a vehicle packed with explosives and an IED near a primary school in Sumar neighbourhood, eastern Mosul, without incident," deputy Mosul police chief Lt. Col. Belal al-Taie told Diyaruna.

Five suspected "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements were arrested near the site, he said, noting that residents helped foil the attack.
