The Iraqi police in Anbar’s provincial capital Ramadi said they arrested a senior "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) leader in a special security operation on Monday (November 6th).
"Security forces arrested ISIS leader Khaled Habib al-Shammary in a special operation in al-Kilo 60," Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij told Diyaruna.
Al-Shammary, who is undergoing interrogation, is involved in planning major terror attacks that have claimed the lives of dozens of civilians, he said.
"Al-Shammary also was in charge of camps for training and sheltering ISIS elements in Iraq’s western desert," he said.
