An "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) rest house has been destroyed south of Baghdad and six suspects have been arrested in a large-scale joint police-army operation, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Monday (September 25th).
"Iraqi forces raided a residential building and seized 17 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), 1 explosives vest, mortars, and light and medium weapons," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Saad Maan told Diyaruna.
They also arrested a suspect who confessed to involvement with a terrorist cell that used the building as its headquarters, he said.
"The operation, carried out at dawn Monday in al-Obaid, south of Baghdad, also nabbed five suspects," he added.
