Iraqi forces arrest senior ISIS element in Ramadi

Four terror elements, including an "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) senior element, were arrested Tuesday (September 19th) morning in a raid north of Ramadi, the Anbar Operations Command said.

"Iraqi forces have arrested four terrorists, including Shakir al-Ansari, a wanted senior ISIS element who had been sentenced in absentia," command spokesman Col. Mohammed al-Dulaimi told Diyaruna.

"The arrests were made during a raid on a residential building based on tips by locals," he said.

He said that seven hand grenades, three explosive vests, various weapons, explosives, cell phones, a computer, and a sum of money in foreign currency were seized in the operation.
