Coalition targets ISIS positions along Syria border

International coalition airstrikes, in co-ordination with Iraqi forces, targeted "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) sites in Husayba along the border with Syria, the Anbar Operations Command said on Wednesday (September 13th).

"Coalition fighter jets on Wednesday morning destroyed three ISIS positions, including two buildings and a small mountainous cave on the border strip [with Syria], in Iraq’s Husayba," command spokesman Col. Mohammed al-Dulaimi told Diyaruna.

"Fourteen terrorists were killed and six four-wheel drive vehicles and a weapons cache were destroyed in the airstrikes," he said.

The operation was co-ordinated with the Iraqi army’s infantry command, according to al-Dulaimi.
