Anbar residents help Iraqi forces arrest 100 ISIS elements

Iraqi forces have arrested more than 100 "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) elements over the past three months with the help of local residents, Anbar police chief Maj. Gen. Hadi Kassar Erzaij said.

The co-operation of residents in Anbar’s cities with the security forces has greatly increased in recent months, he told Diyaruna.

"We have arrested more than 100 terrorists in three months thanks to calls from citizens about terrorists’ whereabouts, including dangerous ISIS leaders," he said.

"This makes us optimistic that the group is living its last days," he added.
