Three suicide bombers were arrested at Baghdad's western gate as they tried to enter the Iraqi capital coming from Anbar province, the interior ministry said Friday (July 21st).
"An interior ministry force on Friday morning arrested three suicide bombers as they tried to enter Baghdad in a vehicle packed with explosives through al-Suqur checkpoint between Baghdad and Anbar," the ministry said in a statement.
"The terrorists were identified based on prior intelligence received from the Ramadi police," the statement said.
The suspects were taken to a special detention facility, it said.
