Seven wanted terrorists, including a senior "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) leader, were arrested in a security raid late Monday (July 10th) south-west of Kirkuk, the Iraqi police in Kirkuk province said.
Special police forces, supported by the Peshmerga, conducted a raid on three residential buildings in al-Tamim and al-Wehda neighbourhoods, Kirkuk police spokesman Col. Salam al-Jaf told Diyaruna.
"Seven people wanted on terrorism charges and five other suspects who were accompanying them were arrested in the operation," he said.
"Sixty-five kilogrammes of explosives, machine guns, and shoulder-mounted RPGs were also seized in the raid," he said.
