Kirkuk strike kills 10 ISIL militants

An international coalition airstrike on a highway south-west of Kirkuk on Monday (April 17th) killed 10 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) gunmen, including a senior leader, Iraq's Counter-Terrorism Service said in a statement.

"International coalition fighter jets targeted a vehicle carrying 10 ISIL elements on al-Riyadh-al-Hawijah highway," the statement said.

"All of the vehicle's occupants were killed in the strike, including Ammar Hasan Mohammed Hasan, also known as Abu Nabil, who was in charge of security," it said.
