Iraqi flag flies over new areas in west Mosul

New progress has been made in liberating west Mosul from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)" control, Ninawa Operations Command said Thursday (March 2nd.)

“Our joint forces have raised the Iraqi flag over three more areas in al-Jawsaq neighbourhood, Wadi Hajar and Bab Sinjar west and southwest of western Mosul,” Ninawa Liberation Operation Commander Lt. Gen. Abdul Ameer Rashid Yarallah told Diyaruna.

At least 65 ISIL militants have been killed in recent operations, he added.

“We have also launched a large-scale operation to remove landmines, improvised explosive devices, and remnants of war," Yarallah said.
