Iraqi forces freed a Yazidi girl found at a house south-east of Mosul, who was previously held captive by the "State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL), the Iraqi Federal Police announced on Friday (January 6th).
"A Federal Police force on Thursday freed a Yazidi girl found at a house in Somar neighbourhood, south-east of Mosul, which has been liberated from ISIL," Federal Police Chief Lt. Gen. Raed Shaker Jawdat said in a press conference.
The girl was referred to the relevant courts to attain her rights, he said.
