Mosul airstrikes target ISIL al-hesba office, kill 8

Coalition airstrikes late Thursday (October 13th) targeted the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) al-hesba (religious police) office in Mosul's al-Wehda neighbourhood, killing eight of the group's fighters, an Iraqi military official said Friday.

"The target was fully destroyed in the airstrike," Brig. Gen. Saad al-Hamadani, commander of Iraqi army’s 4th Brigade which is stationed near Mosul, told Diyaruna.

He also noted the army is in constant communication with Mosul residents to get information on ISIL's movements and the overall situation ahead of the battle to retake the city.
