Iraqi police dismantles ISIL cell in Salaheddine province

Iraqi police supported by the army broke up an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) cell in northern Tikrit after arresting five of its eight members, the police in Salaheddine province said Friday (September 30th).

"Security forces raided a farm and a deserted factory in northern Tikrit, and arrested five ISIL terrorists and seized their weapons and explosives," Salaheddine police spokesman Hasan al-Majmaie told Diyaruna.

"The operation was based on intelligence," he said, adding that arrangements were made with security agencies in neighbouring provinces to arrest the three cell members who are still at large.
