Joint Iraqi and coalition forces killed nine "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) gunmen in operations in Anbar province on Thursday (September 15th), Anbar Operations Command said.
Army forces and supporting units on Thursday evening killed and wounded 13 ISIL gunmen in Albu Thiab, al-Juraishi and Albu Jassim areas of Anbar, the command said in a statement.
Six ISIL elements were killed in Albu Thiab and al-Juraishi, and three were wounded, the statement said.
Meanwhile, coalition forces killed three other gunmen and destroyed four of the group's rest houses in Albu Jassim, the statement added.
