Iraqi forces nabbed a three-member "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) cell during a joint police-army operation in Diyala on Tuesday (September 6th), the Joint Operations Command said.
"The Military Intelligence Directorate’s special operations troops and local police arrested three individuals forming a cell affiliated with ISIL's Wilayat Diyala and seized a vehicle in their possession used to transport explosives and weapons to the capital," the command said in a statement.
"The vehicle was loaded with a large quantity of ammunition, weapons, mortars, explosive vests, rockets and other explosives," the statement said.
