Over 50,000 displaced Anbar families return

More than 50,000 displaced families have returned to areas in Anbar liberated from the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) over the past two weeks, Iraq’s Ministry of Migration and Displacement said Tuesday (September 6th).

The ministry announced the return of “40,552 displaced families to Ramadi, 7,102 to Heet, 3,700 to al-Karma, 1,535 to Rutba, 2,893 to al-Khalidiya, 1,204 to Haditha and 150 families to Fallujah’s al-Nassaf and al-Hasai,” ministry branch manager Mohammed Rashid said in a statement.

“Displaced families continue to return to their original areas in Anbar’s districts and sub-districts, and the ministry will provide them with necessary assistance, including food, in-kind and health assistance and other supplies,” he said.
