Displaced residents from the Anbar town of al-Karma, near Fallujah, have started to return to their homes in accordance with a previously-announced time schedule, the Anbar provincial council said Thursday (September 1st).
“The local government and security forces today received the first batch of residents who returned home to al-Karma after they left displacement camps,” said council chief Sabah al-Karhut.
“The city has been rehabilitated, and preparations have been made to receive them with the help of the UN," he added. "Their return will be gradual to avoid any congestion at the city entrances and the infiltration of terrorists once again."
