The "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) fired mortars on a refugee camp north of Baiji, killing 11 civilians, Iraqi police in Salaheddine province said Thursday (August 18th).
“ISIL terrorists on Thursday morning fired mortars on a refugee camp in al-Asmeda area, north of Baiji, where hundreds of displaced families who were happy to have escaped ISIL's repression were staying,” Salaheddine police spokesman Hasan al-Majmaie told Diyaruna.
“Six of these mortars fell in the centre of camp, killing 11 civilians, including four children and two women, and wounding 20 others,” he said.
