Iraqi forces kill dozens of ISIL fighters in Anbar

Iraqi air and ground forces killed 53 "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) fighters in several areas of Anbar province on Wednesday (August 3rd), the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said.

“The Iraqi army’s forces, represented by the 1st Division, 7th Division, 4th Armoured Brigade, and Special Operations Regiment, and backed by international coalition fighter jets, on Wednesday fought fierce battles against ISIL in Ramadi Island, Heet, Kilo 160, and Zawya, western and eastern Anbar, killing 53 terrorists, including foreign fighters," ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasul told Diyaruna.

“Senior ISIL leader Dhahi Khalaf al-Dhiabi was among those killed,” he said.
