3 senior ISIL leaders killed in southern Mosul

Iraqi army forces on Thursday (June 23rd) shelled "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) outposts in southern Mosul and killed three of the group's senior leaders, the Ninawa operations command said.

"Army forces located ISIL outposts in the village of Zanawir in al-Qayyara district based on prior intelligence," Ninawa operations commander Lt. Gen. Najim Edin Karim al-Juburi told Al-Shorfa.

"The shelling led to the death of nine ISIL elements, while others were wounded," he said.

Among the casualties were three senior wanted ISIL leaders -- Mohammed al-Ajes, Mohammed al-Madi and Udai al-Ali, he added.
